In around one months’ time Combilift will officially open its new factory and global HQ in Monaghan – which is the largest single manufacturing unit under one roof in Ireland. The 40-hectare site houses a 46,000m² factory, a dedicated R&D Development and Testing Centre as well as extensive administrative and visitor facilities.

Guests from around the world are due to attend this momentous event which also coincides with the company’s 20th anniversary. In this time Combilift has grown from a small operation with a handful of employees to become one of the most influential global names in the material handling sector.

One of the major factors for Combilift’s success has been its ability to manufacture and develop groundbreaking and tailor made products to handle all manner of loads, with a focus on safety, space saving and productivity, which set it apart from mainstream forklift manufacturers from the outset. Established by MD Martin McVicar and Technical Director Robert Moffett in 1998, the company launched the world’s first multidirectional all-wheel drive IC engine powered forklift – the Combilift – and has not looked back since. Over 39,000 units have been sold to customers in more than 75 countries.

Three new products will be unveiled during the opening event, underlining further Combilift’s reputation for innovation and developing ingenious materials handling solutions. More details on the exact nature of these will be available at their launch for visitors and representatives of the media.

“We are very proud of what we have achieved in the last twenty years, and we aim to surpass this going forward,” said MD Martin McVicar. “The substantial investment in the new factory gives us the capacity to double our current turnover in the next few years, enabling us to make even stronger inroads into the global market.
