One of the UK’s foremost accrediting bodies for trainers of forklift trucks and related workplace transport – AITT – has announced that it is seeking a new General Manager.
He or she will take on the role of expanding membership, maintaining AITT’s high quality standards and playing a key role in helping to develop the Accrediting Bodies Association (Workplace Transport)
Making the announcement, AITT Chairman Mark Asplen said: “This is a pivotal time for all those of us involved in the accreditation of trainers, the monitoring of standards and the consolidation of traceability in training certification. The individual we are looking for will need a wide skill set and, ideally, will have direct experience in warehouse, forklift trucks or logistics.
“As the only not-for-profit organisation in our sector – run by a membership that embraces not only training companies but also manufacturers of forklift trucks and end-user companies that own and operate the equipment – AITT has a unique perspective on all aspects of training. I believe this has been a key factor in sustaining an ever-expanding membership and in gaining an unparalleled reputation within our industry.”
As well as relevant industry experience, the ideal candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate:

• A practical approach to problem solving and solution seeking

• Demonstrable commercial experience

The successful candidate will operate out of the AITT’s headquarters in North West Leicestershire and, working on behalf of an elected Council, play a pivotal role in establishing and implementing future policy.
