We anticipate our customers’ needs and deliver innovative solutions that exceed expectations and offer high value. Our products provide energy efficient and cost effective solutions, meeting our clients’ heating and ventilation requirements.

Since 1919, Nortek Global HVAC has been a company of problem solvers. We approach heating, ventilation and cooling not by looking at what’s been done, but rather by what our customers need. Sometimes the answers are in the equipment itself, but oftentimes the answers lie outside the box. Literally.

You’ll find this fresh approach in how we make the equipment, how we do business and in how we support our customers – from purchase to install and for the life of the product.

WLN – Why should customers choose you as their main supplier in your area?

Nortek’s innovative product solutions have been showcased in several market sectors for decades, including sports and leisure, retail, commercial, rail, education, aviation, transport and many more.

WLN – What’s business been like in the past year? How have conditions changed over this period and how have you reacted?

2017 has seen a greater number of projects being released in the Commercial & Industrial Sector, particularly in warehousing & distribution centres.

WLN –What were the business highlights for you in the last 12 months?

The introduction of a Business Development Team has enabled us to secure a number of exciting projects for 2018 across our product range.

WLN – What’s been your most outstanding recent project?

We recently provided a Nor-Ray-Vac, radiant tube system for Derby Football Club. The heated concourse is thought to be the first one in the UK and has received a very warm welcome from fans with the club receiving some very positive feedback verbally and through social media. It has been an excellent valuable initiative adding to the enjoyment of a match day experience.

As the concourse is open to the pitch, therefore the outside air would constantly infiltrate into the concourse. The Nor-Ray- Vac system was ideal as the system transfers energy by means of electromagnetic waves, hence passes through the air without heating it. This Radiant heat heats surfaces rather than the air. Another major benefit to radiant heat is to be able to create an environment without stuffiness.

The Nor-Ray-Vac system was designed and implemented by local contractors Pegasus, and provides blanket heat coverage of the concourse, eliminating any cold spots and has an estimated potential fuel saving of 25% over an equivalent warm air system in this type of environment.

WLN – How have you fine-tuned your offering in the last 12 months and why?

We have been working more with Consultants and have recently launched a range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses on best practice for heating systems aimed at industry professionals including specifiers and building consultants.

As a leading manufacturer of total integrated heating, ventilation and cooling solutions within a diverse range of industrial market sectors, experts from our team are available to visit your offices to deliver the CPS accredited courses, which count towards annual CPD points requirements. For more information please email us; cpd@nortek.com

WLN – What recent enhancements have you made in customer service?

Through extensive customer surveys we are looking at a new customer support hub to offer a greatly enhanced customer experience with improved customer care.

WLN – What new products have you brought out?

RHCLN which is a gas fired condensing low NOx heating section that is designed for insertion into air handling units.

WLN – What factors do you see affecting your business in the coming year? How will you turn these into opportunities?

ErP2018 will have a large impact upon the HVAC industry in general with the introduction of minimum seasonal efficiency levels as well as maximum NOx emissions. Having a number of product ranges already compliant with this new legislation (and has been for a number of years before) gives our customers the peace of mind that those products they are already proven within the market. With this in mind we have developed a dedicated ErP website for our customers to enable us to keep them informed of any updates and guide them through the process; www.nortekerp. com

WLN – Are you planning to branch into any new areas, target new customers and take on more people?

In addition to our traditional range we are also expanding our portfolio with Roof Top Units through our new Business Development team.

WLN – Are you investing in new premises and extra staff? What about staff development and training?

In 2017 we have introduced a team of Business Development Managers working directly with Consultants, training in offering solutions for Commercial and Industrial projects across Europe. We are also delighted to be involved in helping to tackle the unemployment crisis in the UK and supporting the efforts of the local press in finding work for the younger generation. We work in partnership with local colleges and invest in young talent by encouraging individuals to join the apprenticeship scheme, making a commitment to their learning and personal development.

WLN – Are you involved in any major trade shows or other industry events over the next year?

We don’t have any fixed plans as yet but watch this space.

WLN – What big news from Nortek Global can our readers look forward to seeing in Warehouse & Logistics News in 2018?

The January deadline for the ErP Directive for Warm Air Heaters 2018, is fast approaching. We will be with you every step of the way to help you understand what the ErP Directive is and how it affects our products not only in 2018 but right through to 2021. We will be incorporating the ErP legislation into the launch of a new range of warm air heaters.
