Kirkham-based family business Alison Handling is supporting Children in Need with a number of customer- and staff-focused initiatives.

The plastic box retailer will donate proceeds to the charity raised through informal dress days for staff, a bring-and-buy sale, and a special range of yellow ‘Pudsey’ boxes on offer to customers.

Ideal for house-movers and hoarders alike, the yellow plastic boxes (measuring 600mm x 400mm x 310mm) are on sale now and a donation will be made to Children in Need for each unit sold.

They are on sale now at justgiving.com/fundraising/alisonhandling

The growing business, named after the founder’s daughter Alison Dearden who is a director at the company, is set to double turnover in coming years and says charitable endeavours are a way of giving back to the community that supports it.

Alison says: “Children in Need is an admirable organisation doing a great deal of invaluable work.

“We are proud to be able to support their work through a number of ways. Donating to Children in Need is an investment in children local to us and throughout the country.”

Alison Handling, which counts several high street retailers as customers, acquired Staffordshire-based GW Containers & Equipment, earlier this year, in addition to a number of overseas distribution rights.

Alison added: “We’re a growing company and it’s important for us to invest in projects that support our local community and help support the projects that are important to our team members.”
