Plastic crates and pallets can often create a problem for logistics warehouses as a home needs to be found for them until they can be taken away for recycling.

If the recycling contractor only collects these occasionally, then large stockpiles can take up valuable space in the warehouse.

Vanden Recycling prides itself on its national collection service that is designed to keep warehouses clear of this clutter, while also turning these redundant crates and pallets into high quality commodities ready for manufacturing again.

Once collected from UK logistics facilities, the crates and pallets are taken to Vanden’s recycling site in Peterborough, where they are prepared for recycling into new products.

Part of the Vanden Global group, Vanden Recycling is able to place these materials onto the market to achieve both the best price and achieve a sustainable recycling solution, including full circle recycling.

Vanden Global managing director Damien van Leuven says: “When material needs to be collected, a simple phone call to us will ensure that the material is collected within 48 hours. Alternatively, we can create bespoke collection patterns that fit around the needs of your business. “This means that warehouses can be kept clean of these redundant crates and pallets, saving space for the warehouse that can be used for storage of the products the warehouse is supposed to store.”

Vanden Recycling will also collect plastic bottles, buckets, films, dolavs, corex, pots, preforms, sheets, skeletal, totes and tray scrap.

“We are a leading global supply chain manager of recyclable plastics,” says Damien van Leuven. “We are specialists in servicing the plastic manufacturing, distribution and retail sectors.

“We provide integrated logistics and processing solutions from waste generation to finished product, including full circle recycling programmes and bespoke collection plans.”

When working with new clients, Vanden Recycling initially makes an assessment of how the service levels can be improved compared to the previous recycling provider.

But it also looks at how revenue can be increased from material sales, either to reduce the collection bill or in some cases provide a larger return from the sale of material for recycling.

Vanden also prides itself on the close relationship it has with its customers.

“The real difference between us and other providers is that we work towards the best end result for the customer,” adds Damien van Leuven. “Our logistics and warehousing clients are not visited by a sales person, but are serviced by someone who knows your business, and knows how to get maximum value and highest functional use out of your pallets and crates.

“Their contact is a person who will answer their questions openly and honestly about where the material ends up, as well as providing them with transparent weight tickets to ensure they get the full rebate from their waste product.”
