On 5th July, leading door manufacturer, Hörmann UK, presented Walker Logistics Ltd. with the UK Warehousing Association’s (UKWA) Environment Award. The prestigious ceremony, which is attended by over 400 guests, took place at The Dorchester Hotel in London.

The UKWA Environment Award honours a business that has demonstrated the most significant and successful application of ‘green’ processes, procedures or monitoring during the year. Walker Logistics stood out as this year’s winners due to the number of green initiatives that it undertakes. One of these initiatives included cutting the amount of waste packaging generated by its client’s supply chains. This was achieved by turning in-bound transit packaging waste into protective void-fill material, which is then used to protect outgoing orders.

Presenting the award on behalf of Hörmann UK, national fields sales manager, Kieran Perry said: “Having won the same award two years ago, we were delighted to have been chosen to sponsor and present it at this year. We have been proud members of the UKWA for over a decade, so we were delighted to have been asked to support them at this year’s event.”
