DSL Global Freight specialises in moving abnormal loads across Europe but its new van based service has been launched following requests from customers for a reliable time critical service for smaller loads.

Director Julian Frazier said investment in the new service had been made to respond to customers, particularly serving aerospace and engineering sectors, for a rapid response providing fixed pick-up and drop off times.

“The aerospace industry operates a just-in-time supply system which requires a reliable delivery service offering fixed drop off times to fit in with their production schedules,” said Mr Frazier.

“For many years we have been providing an international service to aerospace companies in Germany and Portugal and now we have created this new UK based service which offers the precise timings that traditional couriers can’t meet.

“We are also taking loads from a range of other industry sectors and our vans have been modified to take cargo of up to 2 metres wide and 4.2m long.”

Mr Frazier added: “Our core business of providing logistics for abnormal loads continues to thrive along with our international air, sea and land freight forwarding service.

“However, one of the reasons for our success is our ability to react quickly to provide a solution for our customers’ needs and this new van delivery service is an example of that.”
