Like the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst, front line discipline and precision directs the customer culture of Andy Crane Transport, which has its headquarters in the Berkshire town that is synonymous with officer-level excellence.

Getting it right first time every time meant the business, formed in 1986 as a man and a van delivery company, could not mark time when it was impacted by a changing of the guard and it found itself needing to march to a different drum.

Andy Crane Transport, which has just become part of the Palletline shareholder network, outgrew its premises in Fleet Hampshire in 1998 when the larger operation moved to Vulcan Way, Sandhurst in order to accommodate what was then a 14-strong fleet.

Since then the business has continued to grow and during 2015 started to look for a strategic partnership to help build upon its customer-centric approach. Andy Crane’s operations director Stuart Ward said the business still retained the ‘customer-first’ ethos from its fledgling ‘man and a van’ days.

“To us customer service and attitude was always, and remains to this day, the main focus of the business. It was important to us to find a new network that reflected those values.”

“Palletline shares the same approach and shareholder focus which made the decision to move easier,” he added.

Andy Crane Transport, which offers services in the UK, Ireland and Europe, now serves the Surrey and Berkshire postcode areas for Palletline.

Stuart concluded: “I am now optimistic about our future because since we made the move we have had only positive feedback from our customers. Being part of the Palletline family will only help our organic growth and it will allow us take our customers with us on that journey as well as maintaining, and building upon a quality offering.”

Palletline managing director Graham Leitch, said: “Andy Crane Transport is a strategic addition to the Palletline family serving the key GU and RG postcodes. There is also a strong synergy between our shareholder values and what Andy Crane Transport was looking for in a partnership – it is already working well which underlines the reasons for the move.”
