WLN – What’s the most exciting thing about your job?

Knowing that we are providing companies with solutions that keep their staff safe and their warehouse running efficiently. Receiving positive feedback from customers always gives me a buzz.

Graham Halliday

WLN – Who’s inspired you most in your career?

My ex-boss who taught me that giving your colleagues freedom to think for themselves would allow good ideas to come to fruition. I’m a firm believer in treating people with respect and courtesy and as a result we have a happy team that excels at all levels.

WLN – If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?

A racking beam – always there to offer support and an integral part of a larger structure.

WLN – If you had your career all over again, what would you do different?

Very little to be honest, I’ve been very lucky that the seemingly bad times such as redundancy have led to bigger and better things for me. I think things happen for a reason and prefer to look forward than looking back at what might have been.

WLN – What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you at work?

Following an accidental collision playing football I ended up arriving for an important client meeting with a black eye – I’m not convinced he believed where it had come from but he did place an order so hopefully he did.

WLN – Who or what makes you laugh?

One thing always guaranteed to make me laugh is Morecambe and Wise – timeless classics. Oh and babies giggling – it’s impossible to resist joining in with them!

WLN – Do you have any hidden talents?

I enjoy the English language and used to write regularly when time permitted. I was a regular contributor for a football fanzine and I’ve also written a children’s story book.

WLN – Who would be your favourite party guest?

Niall Quinn – a true gentleman and saviour of my football team, Sunderland. I’d happily chat all things football, and enjoy a few beverages in the process.

WLN – What is the greatest luxury in your life?

My family, without a doubt. I’ve been blessed in this respect.

WLN – What is your favourite guilty pleasure?

TV programmes like Bargain Hunt, Storage Wars and Pawn Stars. I always enjoy seeing unusual and valuable items being discovered. I think it goes back to when my parents ran an antique’s shop.

WLN – Do you have any secret ambitions?

I’d like to appear on a TV quiz some day for a chance to win my fortune.

WLN – What’s your dream holiday destination?

I’d love to visit Canada and explore the great outdoors and stunning landscape.

WLN – What are your three favourite movies of all time?

The Great Escape, The Usual Suspects and Airplane

WLN – What is your favourite book of all time?

It by Stephen King

WLN – What’s your favourite pastime?

These days it is divided equally between playing 5-a-side, badminton and climbing.

WLN – If you won the Lottery, what would you do?

Travel the world – in particular the less tourist trodden locations.
