WLN – What brought you to this industry?

After being made redundant from my previous job as a shift manager, I started at Loadhog in 2007, and was promoted to production manager in 2011 when Loadhog moved into its current premises.
WLN – What’s the most exciting thing about your job?

No day is the same as the day before. Every day brings different challenges as our products are built in collaboration with Loadhog’s inhouse Ideas & Innovation centre. They are designed to save costs within supply chain operations by reducing labour time, eliminating one-trip packaging waste, increasing vehicle fill and other benefits.

WLN – Who has inspired you most in your career?

Matt Godhard, our operations director, whose motto is “attitude is everything.”

WLN – If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?

A fork truck – always on the go, involved with everything and needed.

WLN – If you had to do it all over again, what would you do different?

I would smile more and worry less.

WLN – What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you at work?

Dressing up as a woman for charity and attracting far too many compliments.

WLN – Who or what makes you laugh?

Monday morning stories from our operators about their weekend. Oh, to be young again.

WLN – Do you have any hidden talents?

WLN – Who would be your favourite party guest?

My dad, who passed away in 2010. It would be great to get together again for a party.

WLN – What is the greatest luxury in your life?

My family – priceless!

WLN – What is your favourite guilty pleasure?

John Smith’s bitter – the more the merrier!

WLN – Do you have any secret ambitions?

To own my own racehorse.

WLN – What’s your dream holiday destination?

Las Vegas.

WLN – What are your three favourite movies of all time?

Schindler’s List, The Godfather and When Saturday Comes.

WLN – What is your favourite book of all time?

To Kill a Mocking Bird.

WLN – What’s your favourite pastime?

Watching my beloved football team, Sheffield United.

WLN – If you won the Lottery, what would you do?

Treat my family… to a racehorse.

WLN – What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into the industry?

If the industry interests you, then join it! The rewards are out there.
