“Creating options and providing robust solutions” could be the mantra of the multichannel professionals responsible for “S-O-L-D” – Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics and Delivery. As you will already know the infrastructural aspects of multichannel retail are creating new capabilities that our marketing colleagues can turn into customer promises. Immediately ‘after the buy button’ we’re involved in fulfilling those promises – delivery, service, returns management:  at the customer’s, home, work, collection points and of course in store. EDC-138eDelivery Conference, will return for its second year, at London Novotel West on 11 October 2016.  EDC will address the latest trends, developments and best practice for multichannel fulfillment professionals in a very interactive and dynamic atmosphere.

EDC_logo_positive_landscapeAmong this year’s stellar line-up of speakers is Katie McQuaid, Director – Fulfillment, Amazon UK who will deliver the first keynote of the day, followed by speakers from Royal Mail, Intershop, Tesco, Amazon UK, Mothercare, M&S, FedEx CrossBorder and more. Over 500 delegates will join the board–level conversation in the 13 roundtables on topics such as back office management, efficient dropshipping and delivery, taking fulfilment abroad and much more.

The overarching theme of this year’s conference is “Practicality”; how to respond to customer demands and schedule requirements by improving operational performance, will be addressed under two conference streams “Availability” and “Experience” .

The “Availability” stream will explore how the rapid growth of online retail has impacted the infrastructure, revealing new approaches for achieving efficiency, responsiveness and agility through stock and operations management.  This stream includes keynotes from industry experts such as Ian Towell, Head of Returns, Tesco and Roger Morris, Head of Royal Mail Parcels, Royal Mail.

The second stream “Experience” will focus on how delivery professionals have evolved from being “back office” staff to key drivers of customer experience. Topics discussed in this stream range from new order management and supply chain standards – how to make products buyable for a customer; enable transaction; get the product to a customer wherever they are.

eDelivery Conference is the sister event to the 11th annual InternetRetailing Conference (IRC), which will take place on 12 October 2016, just a day after EDC.  IRC will offer a rounded view on the new pressures and trends challenging the growth of the multichannel retail industry.
