2016 is already turning out to be another successful year for Hörmann as the industry continues to pick up. The leading industrial door and loading bay manufacturer is enjoying a rise in demand for its doors and curtains, with 20 projects on the books and 500 loading bays already on order for this year.

Hörmann is continuing to work with major retailers such as John Lewis on big shed builds, and has recently finished a project with TNT where 101 doors were installed at a new depot in Swindon. The manufacturer is also expanding into new business areas and is now involved in a number of jobs based at UK ports.

As Europe’s leading supplier of doors, Hörmann’s success is largely down to its high-quality products that benefit from German innovation and engineering, as well as its costeffective maintenance and repair solutions. More than 15 million doors have been produced since its beginnings in 1935 and the familyrun company has extended its global presence considerably during this period.

As well as investing in the latest technologies and production techniques to continually improve and enhance its products, Hörmann also strives to work closely with its partners, employees and construction professionals to support their needs.

A new training and exhibition centre recently opened at the manufacturer’s headquarters in Steinhagen, Germany. The Hörmann Forum hosts the largest company product exhibition to date and provides space for a variety of training and seminar options to help develop industry knowledge.

With construction professionals increasingly relying on digital platforms, Hörmann has made its product range accessible through its own online database. The Architect’s Program is particularly useful for those involved in building design or construction tenders and provides downloadable drawings and the relevant technical data and requirements to specify over 850 Hörmann products.

Many of Hörmann’s doors and equipment have also been made into 3D digital ‘BIM objects’ and are available to download through the NBS National BIM Library. By providing its products in the necessary digital formats, Hörmann will ensure that it maintains a strong relationship with these industry professionals.

A selection of Hörmann’s doors and loading bay equipment will be on display at the International Materials Handling Exhibition (IMHX) at the NEC in Birmingham this September. Attendees will be able to see popular items such as the high-speed spiral door, new direct drive rolling shutter and intelligent DOBO docking system, as well as gain valuable advice from industry specialists.

Already this year Hörmann has introduced a new flexible sales team to provide an allencompassing service across both the industrial and domestic ranges.

The manufacturer is hoping to build on its recent achievements and continue to enhance its offering throughout 2016.
