The latest solution to come from Battery Managed Solutions revolves around the issue of battery plugs and their constant need to be replaced.
Around six years ago we were asked by one of our major customers to look into the issue of battery plug handles and what we could recommend or advise to stop them constantly breaking and hence costing the company vast amounts of money on a daily basis.
After looking at the various problems and what would cause plugs to be damaged, we designed a handle that was capable of being retrofitted to existing plugs, whilst still maintaining the integrity of the plug interior and minimising the risk of battery plug damage. These plastic coated metal handles are compatible with Din 80, 160 and 320 Amp battery plugs and sockets and are probably the strongest, and therefore the most economically viable option available on the market today.
They are acid resistant and, unlike similar plastic handles, are very durable and unlikely to break and have to be replaced. They are designed to fit on plugs with or without air or water systems.
Our main customer who has several thousand batteries, stopped replacing plugs over five years ago once these handles had been retrofitted and the savings have been beyond expectations. Patent is pending on this product.
