The Co-Op has seen a 10% increase in productivity across its warehouse by choosing a new voice system from Vocollect by Honeywell.
After experiencing problems with the hardware, cables, and in particular, speech recognition, Co-Op was looking to change its order-picking process to keep up with demand and reduce errors.
Selecting a new supplier has resulted in improvements in the speech aspects and performance of the systems.
Besides the Vocollect Voice system from Honeywell, Co-Op has also chosen a number of Honeywell scanning devices. Employees declare they prefer these devices, not least because they are easy to use in the refrigerated DC where workers are required to use gloves.
Marco van der Zalm (ICT Manager): “Vocollect specialises in speech recognition. The discussions revealed that Vocollect has a clear roadmap for the coming years in terms of new developments.”
“It takes only 15 minutes to train people on the Vocollect system, and it’s language agnostic. Both the Dutch and Polish workers can be trained in their own language.”
