The pressure to achieve maximum productivity means today’s high-density warehouses can be hazardous environments, and safety is a hot topic in the industry. As our front page bears out, protection of assets from accidental damage during storage is crucial. Rack Armour, pallet racking safety specialists for the past 40 years, have launched an innovative end of aisle barrier range, which it says is revolutionising the way we protect pallet racking.

According to the company, demand for the product from new and existing customers has been so overwhelming that Rack Armour have decided to expand their range further to accommodate other areas of busy warehouses. You really can ‘bite the bullet’ on the safety front with the new barriers, which are made with ballistics grade polymer to give the perfect defence against damage from forklift trucks.

In other news, yes England has crashed out of the Rugby World Cup but cheer up, Warehouse & Logistics News has made it onto Have I Got News For You! As Andy Warhol said, in the future everyone will be world famous for fifteen minutes. WLN enjoyed several minutes of national attention on primetime TV at 9pm on Friday 2 October, when it starred as guest publication on the popular news quiz, which has now been running for 25 years.

Guest presenter Jeremy Clarkson, returning to the BBC for the first time since his hasty exit in March from Top Gear, drew most of the ribbing on the night, but W&LN was in the frame in the missing words round, getting the laughs and flying the flag for the industry.

In case you missed it, you can catch the fun on Youtube, or visit our website and you’ll see it on the home page. Fancy that – a trade publication providing comedy that’s safe to watch in the office, without being told off. What more could you ask?!
