Lighting in warehousing is often over five years’ old, on 24 hours a day and based on inefficient technology. But now LEDs and smart controls can deliver dramatic energy savings for warehouses and distribution centres – all while improving the environment for staff.

luxlogodatesThere’s a revolution going on in lighting: by replacing old inefficient schemes with modern alternatives, energy and facilities managers can slash their energy bills and reduce their CO2 emissions whilst providing people-centred lighting. And you can find out how at LuxLive 2015, Europe’s biggest annual lighting exhibition. It takes place at ExCeL London on 18 and 19 November and is entirely free-to-attend.

Ripping up the rule book, LuxLive brings together all of the latest innovations in this fast-moving sector. It will scrutinise the pros and cons of current lighting tech and will get under the bonnet of some of the UK’s most challenging lighting projects.

As you’d expect, the big names will be out in force and will have a massive presence at the show, which attracted over 7,000 visitors last year.  Holophane, Earlsmann, Key Lighting, SH Lighting, Bell Lighting, Leader Light, MHA, Thorn, Dextra and Venture will all be there along with more than 280 other big lighting brands.

LuxLive’s exhibition is supported by an extensive programme of free-to-attend talks which has been divided into the key sectors that are feeling the effects of the lighting revolution including warehousing and distribution centres as well as emergency and outdoor lighting. The programme will feature a series of in depth sessions for this sector on Thursday 19 November which will include a panel discussion on taking the pain out of maintaining industrial lighting. There will be a high-mast case study and John Bradshaw, engineering and technical services manager at Royal Mail, will be talking you through the rollout of LEDs and controls to 16 UK mail centres. There will be emergency lighting sessions which will help you assess whether you are complying with the law and will look at whether your emergency lighting will do its job if your building loses power.  As well as case studies there will be practical sessions on warranties, and how to dodge the loopholes that can make your warranty worthless, as well as a look at how to futureproof your spec in which you will be able to make sure you don’t lose out to future changes in technology, and how to justify the initial cost outlay.
