Prism DM’s recently opened site in Northamptonshire will significantly increase the company’s capacity for multi-client operations. With 12,000 racked pallet positions, bulk storage areas in a modern high standard depot, fully fitted ESFR sprinkler systems and a 24/7 manned security environment near the main UK delivery networks, the site offers a comprehensive suite of services.
There are also plans for some specialist operations for retailers, such as bulk break of supplier deliveries and initial store allocations before forwarding the balance to the client’s own warehouse. These services will complement and extend Prism’s established offerings of B2C and B2B fulfilment.
Prism DM’s own WMS system will be deployed to ensure clients have a single view of their inventory at all times. The system will be continuously enhanced by Prism’s in-house development team to achieve higher levels of throughput for specialist work flows, and also to simplify integrations with clients’ systems by API so eliminating the need for duplicated or manual processes between organisations.

In 2014 NNR United Kingdom committed to move further into the contract logistics arena. The strategy was to provide a high-specification, high-security facility that was to be designed to target the retail market and the company’s loyal customer base that expects high quality, high value support.
NNR UK focused on providing new value through warehousing, distribution and value added services complementing their freight operations and to offer a true end to end solution. On 1 June 2014, after 6 months of careful planning and modifications to the facility, the company’s flagship contract logistics facility in Northampton was opened.
Warehousing, road transport distribution to UK and Europe and value added services such as kitting and co-packing, are all undertaken from the 64,000 square feet distribution centre. Within 6 months of opening, the new site is full with 7,000 pallets of fast moving consumer goods.

The company’s extensive site in the North East can also offer a full BRC accredited storage facility and pick and pack solution, office space, secure parking, agency staff and same day work.
Simpson’s distribution centre encompasses a 310,000 square feet area of high bay, narrow aisle racking perfect for the storage of palletised goods. The company employs the latest specialist handling equipment to ensure the safe and fast flow of pallets throughout the warehouse, while dedicated warehouse account handlers monitor customer stock levels and handle all picking, packing and despatch requirements.
