Luke-Fermor-WoodlandThe continued expansion of the fulfilment business and the different people and customers I meet and interact with on a daily basis.

WLN – Who inspired you most in your career?

It would be hard to pin it down to just one person who inspired me – I believe it is best to take inspiration from all the different people you meet and find your own route.

WLN – If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?

I would be a reach truck as it is very satisfying when all your racking is neat, tidy and full of pallets!

WLN – If you had to do it all over again, what would you do different?

I wouldn’t change anything. It’s been a really interesting rollercoaster of a journey for me career-wise, but along the way you learn a lot and meet some great people.

WLN – What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you at work?

At work in China, managing to lock myself out of my room in nothing but my boxers, and having to walk down to reception to ask for a spare key.

WLN – Who or what makes you laugh?

Hilarious mistakes – like the guy who went into Starbucks and, when they asked him what his name was, he said “Marc with a C” …. and they handed him this cup! (pictured) You couldn’t make it up!

I can sew (to the great surprise of all the members of my family).

To become the CEO of a global freight forwarding and supply chain specialist…

WLN – What’s your dream holiday destination?

Skiing in the Alps with bright blue sky, sunshine and lots of snow (I’m not one to sit around on a sun lounger).

WLN – What is your favourite movie of all time?

The Hangover (when I first saw it I was asked to keep the laughter down as I was on an aeroplane!)

WLN – What is your favourite book of all time?

Any of the Lee Childs novels – they are superb thrillers.
