Re-Instate is a registered charity and social enterprise that enhances the lives of local people experiencing mental distress, or with a learning disability. This is achieved through an innovative range of supported employment and learning services. Workshops at Re-Instate offer commercial work that helps people retrain, prepare and search for work.

The operator training from Toyota Material UK Handling took place at their office based in Kent. Toyota previously trained members from the charity last year and were impressed with the support that was being provided to its users. Toyota decided to provide an additional training session free of charge to help support the organisation.

The users of the charity received training on how to operate powered stackers safely. Toyota also provided free safety resources that including personal protective equipment and safety posters.

Simon Hart, Business Manager explains “Work at the social enterprise includes packing and despatching goods. A recent job for a blue chip media company involved receiving 25 separate pallets in a short time frame, which we repacked into canvas goody-bags, and delivered for a prestigious awards ceremony in London. The truck gets plenty of use and training was needed to make sure we were using the truck safely and productively.”

Simon adds “We were overwhelmed with the professionalism of Marc, he took his time to make sure each operator understood how to operate the truck. This seemed a simple task for Marc as his knowledge of the product was first-rate.”
