The business, which has depots in Redditch, Bradford and West Thurrock, provides bespoke logistics services across Europe in addition to operating scheduled transport direct to 11 countries.

Transmec UK is part of Transmec Group, which has headquarters in Italy and is the market leading operator between the UK and Italy.

Recent contract wins include a £5.6million deal which sees Transmec UK moving automotive parts from European suppliers to UK manufacturing plants and a £2 million fashion logistics contract to provide express delivery of hanging garments from the UK to Italy.

“Over the last 12 months, we’ve seen our turnover increase by 20 per cent thanks to a healthy combination of new contract wins and increased business with existing customers,” said John Simkins, Transmec UK’s country manager.

“Customers like our proactive approach and the fact that we offer a fast, reliable and secure service. Looking ahead to the rest of 2015, we’ve identified a number of significant growth opportunities and these will be a core focus for us in the months ahead.”

Increasing demand has already resulted in Transmec UK’s 11,000 sq m Redditch warehouse reaching its capacity, leading to the acquisition of an additional 6,000 sq m of warehousing space at nearby Pershore.

The company, which employs 130 people, is also launching a new department at Redditch to capitalise on opportunities to move freight to and from destinations across Eastern Europe, including a dedicated rail link with Curtici in Romania.

“This is an exciting time for Transmec UK and we’re looking forward to another successful year,” added Mr Simkins.
