As the exhibitor with the biggest stand at LuxLive 2014, Tamlite Lighting also proved to be one of the show’s star attractions, with its newly-launched MICRO LED drawing widespread attention for its combination of high performance and good quality of light.

LUX-Live-2014-16Tamlite, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and designers of lighting, received over 500 visitors to its stand over the two days of LuxLive, which was held at ExCeL London. LED technology was the big story at LuxLive, but the show’s line-up of high-level industry speakers cautioned that there must be a greater emphasis on performance, quality of light and sustainability within the LED arena.

Tamlite shares these priorities and LuxLive marked the launch of its MICRO LED batten for industrial and retail environments, which was developed to provide glare-free light quality while also delivering a high level of energy efficiency.

Designed and manufactured at Tamlite’s sites in the Midlands, the MICRO LED represents the cutting edge of home-grown lighting research and development. It brings the traditional batten into the modern age, with high-performance LED technology that boasts a lifespan of 50,000 hours. What’s more, this is LED without compromise: the clever design of the MICRO LED provides precise optical control of the light distribution, which minimises the problem of glare. Little wonder, then, that the MICRO LED proved to be the star of the show at LuxLive.

At 216 square metres, and manned by a 16-strong team, the Tamlite stand was both the show’s largest and its most visible, positioned at the entrance to the exhibition. Visitors to the stand also had a chance to get to grips with Tamlite’s new 2020 range, a portfolio of products designed especially for the projects and specification market. Developed with the demanding requirements of designers, architects and installers in mind, 2020 exclusively features products that produce excellent light quality, combined with low energy consumption.

Colin Lawson, Head of Sales, Marketing & Product Development at Tamlite Lighting, comments: “We received a great reception at LuxLive, with lots of positive feedback from delegates, as well as interest from the editors of Lux, EIBI (Energy In Buildings and Industry) and Total Lighting.”

He adds: “The message from LuxLive speakers and attendees was very clear: when it comes to LED, customers are looking for a strong combination of performance and light quality. This is why our MICRO LED batten proved to be such a hit.”
