TVH has two important activities: Parts & Accessories and Rental & Equipment. This last activity has three divisions: Equipment Division (sales of new and second-hand forklifts and aerial work platforms), Rental Division (short- and long-term rental of forklifts and aerial work platforms) and Service & Repair Division.

The Rental Division is active in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Serbia. The Service & Repair Division is a service we only offer in Belgium. The Parts & Accessories and the Equipment Division are active worldwide.

Danny McAllister, General Manager TVH UK?&?Ireland, spoke to Warehouse & Logistics News.

WLN – As the leading spare parts company, how has the category been performing in the last 12 months? What are the major trends and developments?

Again an excellent year where TVH really hit the ground with the expansion of its business also in other segments than forklift parts, in markets such as telehandlers, aerial work platforms, cleaning, port equipment and agriculture.

WLN – What are your core products and services: what are you best known for providing?

Besides the extensive range of new replacement parts for material handling, industrial and agricultural equipment, we are growing our offer of high quality service exchange and repaired items. Our webshop MyTotalSource offers to our customers the possibility to order, enquire and consult 24/7.

WLN – What developments or upgrades have you made to your core products and services in the last 12 months?

Our biggest investments would have been in people, our workforce, the quality of our second-hand parts by developing new test benches and the constant improvements of our webshop MyTotalSource.

Also it is important to keep up with the latest technical developments. New techniques require new diagnostic methods. TVH can also be the partner to help people with the training of their technical staff offering training on internal combustion engines, electric motors, hydraulics and recently added courses related to aerial work platforms, scissor lifts …

WLN – What makes you the ‘go to’ supplier in your area of expertise?

TVH sets the benchmark for continuous innovation and excellence in quality and service in our segment of the industry and remains fully focused on delighting its customers and business partners.

TVH is committed to proving a true one-stop-shop experience.

WLN – Have you launched any new products and services in the past year? How are they performing?

By entering and exploring new markets, our product range is becoming more and more ‘complete’. For example the Maxi Sweeper has been our newest addition to our range of sweepers. We also launched our new website and added new options in the webshop.

WLN – Which industry sectors are your customers in?

Our customers are active in a lot of different segments of the material handling, industrial and agricultural equipment industry.  TVH will keep growing in the parts industry thanks to several acquisitions in 2014 with activities in several different markets.

WLN – Can you tell us about your latest major projects, and what they involve?

One of the exciting and most successful projects this year was to major on the industrial equipment division within TVH, building and enlarging our customer base for parts and accessories in the aerial work platforms, scrubbers and sweepers and attachments sectors.

WLN – Have you made any big moves recently in terms of investment in the business, recruitment and so on?

We constantly invest in automation and optimization of our logistics processes to guarantee a 24/48 hour service worldwide.

To be able to continuously offer the best quality to our customers, TVH uses an extensive system of testing not only its own repairs but also the quality of products received from its suppliers.

TVH Coventry has obtained the warehouse next door to the existing building which allows us to expand the UK stocked items.  In Coventry, you can see the new trade counter that has recently been opened.

WLN – What was your company’s single biggest achievement in the last year?

Our organic growth with investment in new people and markets driving the business forward.

WLN – What are your plans for 2015? Are you planning to bring out any more products or services, move into new markets or enter new countries?

New products and new markets are definitely on our list for next year. We plan on maintaining our 20,000 customers worldwide in over 170 countries who we can serve in 32 languages.

WLN – Are you exhibiting at any major trade shows this year?

TVH will be present at trade shows worldwide and in lots of different markets. In France we will be attending Europropre and Intermat. We will be present at CeMAT in Australia, Pulire in Italy, TOC Europe and Electric, Hybrid Marine World Expo and Logistica in the Netherlands, CeMAT in Brazil, CMS, Inter Airport Europe and Agritechnica in Germany and of course Vertikal Days at Haydock Park UK.

WLN – What other headline news from your company can our readers look forward to reading about in Warehouse & Logistics News in 2015?

TVH grows in the parts industry with several acquisitions in 2014 with activities in several different markets and has launched its new Consumables and accessories catalogue at the end of 2014. Around 1,800 pages feature 18,000 references, conveniently arranged in 12 chapters. The chapters deal with everything from safety to warehouse accessories and from power tools to measuring equipment.

And of course, the innovative approach in how we deal with our continued expanding customer base and how we service their business.
