A million men and women working with and alongside fork lift trucks in the UK are being asked to show off their best practice in the new ‘Safety Selfie’ competition, which was launched by the Fork Lift Truck Association at the National Fork Truck Safety Conference.

The competition, which will run until 31st December 2014, is open to anyone who works on or around fork lift trucks – operators, managers/supervisors and other workers on site – to raise awareness of fork truck safety at all levels.
FLTA Chief Executive Peter Harvey said: “Every year, up to 800 workers are seriously injured or worse in accidents involving fork lift trucks and, that is, frankly, 800 too many.
“The key to reducing this accident toll is encouraging those who work with or near fork lift trucks to think about safety on site and act accordingly.
“So we are asking everyone to put their best sides forward and show off their good practice to their counterparts across the country.”

Ten winners will be selected and announced in Warehouse & Logistics News, the event’s official Media Partner, early in the New Year.
