Palletline members Framptons Transport Services and Law Distribution teamed up to make a free emergency delivery to Manchester Dogs Home this week when they transported food and supplies to help animals rescued from the fire.

Somerset-based Framptons wanted to do anything it could to help when local customer, Crown Pet Foods, said it was donating pallets of dog food, bowls, blankets, food and other special equipment.

Gilly Walters, commercial director, Framptons Transport Services said: “What happened at Manchester Dogs Home was a tragedy that touched the hearts of the nation, so when Crown Pet Foods asked us if we could make the delivery, we jumped at the chance.

“Despite the fact that we’re all the way down in Somerset, the breadth and community spirit of the Palletline network enabled us to deliver the goods promptly. Our network partner Law Distribution, which covers the Manchester area and Palletline, both waived their fees meaning we could play our part in helping the animals that survived.”

John Law, transport manager, Law Distribution said: “As a Manchester business, we were devastated by the news of the fire at the dog’s home so the opportunity to help deliver much needed equipment was great and we are delighted to have completed the delivery.”

Palletline sales and marketing director Martin Rantle: “It is great to see the network and members working together for such a good cause. I am thrilled that the delivery was made to Cheshire Dogs Home where the surviving dogs are being housed and most importantly that the animals are safe and have the supplies they need!”
