Loadhog Limited, the Sheffield-based, one hundred per cent employee-owned transit packaging innovator, is delighted to announce that it is a finalist in the People Effectiveness category of the IMechE 2014 Manufacturing Excellence (MX) Awards, the business improvement programme which supports and promotes all manufacturers in the UK.

Loadhog-logo2[1]Now hoping to become a national winner out of the six finalists in the category, Loadhog has been visited by the programme’s MX assessors who toured the plant and learned about the company’s agenda and values focused on maximising people effectiveness.

During the visit the company’s own direct ownership and responsibility programme; its employee ownership policy, encouraging shared accountability and success; and its training academy, to develop people and thereby improve the business, were presented. To help the assessors to understand the positive impact that the people-centric culture had on employees, who are also shareholders, they were encouraged to speak to them throughout the business.

Ed Stubbs, Loadhog’s managing director, said: “This achievement is of particular significance for the company as developing our people is fundamental to building a lasting employee-owned business which adds value and makes a difference. I am delighted that our company has been recognised by the IMechE for the unique business and culture it has created.”

Every Loadhog product not only delivers significant cost savings to customers, through ease of use and the elimination of one trip packaging materials, but also class leading environmental benefits with 15 patents obtained and designs registered since its establishment ten years ago.

The final stage of the programme will see all finalists presenting their cases in London to a panel of senior engineers, industry specialists and leading academics. The presentation to the winners in each category will take place on September 30th when the guest speaker will be the television presenter, Gavin Esler.
