In the quest for greater efficiency in buildings, the latest energy-saving lighting can have a significant role in reducing bills. However, it is not just lower energy consumption that can cut costs, but also a reduction in maintenance requirements.

Ready_Steady_Storage_crompack[8]This is why Eaton’s Cooper Lighting and Safety business has launched the Crompack LED batten, which combines the energy saving benefits of LED technology with ease of maintenance in order to reduce costs over the long term.

Designed for large working areas and corridors, the long lasting and low maintenance Crompack LED is ideally suited to factories, warehouses, open spaces within offices, plant rooms, hospitals and schools.

Available in several sizes and with the widest range of lumen outputs on the market, the Crompack LED is supplied with a choice of mounting kits to suit particular applications, whether being fixed directly to a ceiling surface or suspended instead. Ease of installation and fast access to control gear makes the fitting process straightforward and, with no lamps to change, ongoing maintenance is fuss-free. This is particularly beneficial in 24-hour operations and where lighting is installed in areas that are difficult to access. Additionally, tamper proof casing provides further reassurance against unexpected damage.

The Crompack LED range also offers the option of built-in control gear for intelligent operation and a three hour emergency standby can be incorporated.

“The new range of Crompack LEDs have been specifically developed in response to the ever increasing demand for LED lighting solutions in the market today” commented Greg Herring, product manager for mains lighting within Eaton’s Cooper Lighting and Safety business. “The traditional preference was for fluorescent lighting, which was perceived as being lower in cost. However, this LED solution is not only highly energy efficient but has a longer life and therefore requires less maintenance, which makes the overall cost of ownership extremely competitive in the long term.”

The Crompack LED is available in nominal four, five and six foot formats, ideal for both new installations and retro fit applications in environments. The range offers lumen outputs of up to 10300lm delivering high efficiencies of up to 114lm/cW across three luminaire lengths. The options include dimmable control gear and a range of integrated control options providing occupancy detection and daylight harvesting to maximise energy saving, user comfort and control.
