The IBCS success story goes from strength to strength, with continued growth necessitating two relocations in the past three years. The latest move is to new modern premises on Hellaby Industrial site outside Rotherham provides more space for stock, training and improved transport links.

IBCS are one of the UK’s largest totally independent supplier of industrial batteries and services and celebrate their 30th anniversary this year.
So what drives this growth? Part of the secret has been to offer a flexible business culture for customers, including innovative payment schemes, supported by an unwavering focus in right first time, every time service ideals.
The robust core battery and charger rental business has been the cornerstone of the business over the years, utilizing quality brand products.
But a new key part of this initiative has been a Rent to Buy scheme (RTB). This provides both forklift truck batteries and chargers on short, medium or long term hire. RTB provides a customer option for them to own the equipment at the end of the period.
Managing Director Jonathan Jones commented, ‘Although we are seeing a general pick up within the economy, cash control is still a major factor with many end users’.
‘The ability to conserve cash plus having the option of owning regularly serviced equipment at the end of the hire period has been a real winner. No fixed term contracts are required, fully flexible terms available’.
He added, ‘Our independence means we can make swift decisions to find the best solution for each individual customer. These innovations coupled with a dedicated and focused sales and service team has meant excellent but controlled growth in this demanding environment’.
‘Our centralised service office means our team of experienced service engineers are available to offer impartial advice on battery and charger problems, and where required, to effect on-site repairs’. ‘The aim and priority is always to make sure our existing and potential customers choose the appropriate option for them’.
