Speed zoning will be a further focus of the MHE Fleet Management Seminar co-hosted by I.D. Systems (UK) Ltd and Mentor Training at the Belfry on 16th October. With inappropriate speed and instability being major causes of forklift accidents in the workplace, reducing the likelihood of these is a major issue. The seminar will look at the options available for avoiding accidents by using, for example, RFID or GPS technology which automatically triggers speed control in specific areas.

“Judging by the level of interest in speed zoning products at recent events such as CeMAT, there is now more focus than ever on ensuring safe operation in danger zones such as crossings, aisle exits, ramps and areas where pedestrians may be present,” said I.D. Systems’ Managing Director EMEA Alex Glasmacher. “There are numerous solutions available on the market today, and the purpose of this section of the MHE seminar is to provide an overview and to highlight key selection criteria. If you are planning such an installation, or have experience with a speed zoning solution, we invite you to attend the MHE seminar and actively participate in the discussion.”

Other presentations on the day by industry professionals will give valuable insights as to how smart and accurate fleet management can improve the productivity of your operation while significantly reducing the costs and risks to your business. These will be complemented by interactive workshops led by personnel from I.D. Systems (UK) and Mentor Training. A further highlight on the agenda is an appearance by motivational speaker Chris Moon MBE, who will share his inspirational personal story of overcoming adversity and also talk on risk management, health and safety.
