Dr. Martens has been experiencing fantastic growth over the past year with their High Street presence rising to 19 locations, each selling the brand’s iconic boots and footwear alongside its clothing range and accessories.

As part of this expansion Dr. Martens are moving to a new European Distribution Centre in Raunds, Northamptonshire. Due to growth of both their traditional retail and eCommerce business they require a state of the art Warehouse Management System, and have selected Logistex’s LWS Reflex.

‘Out of the box’ Functionality

The sophisticated offering allows LWS Reflex to be used as a Movement and Warehouse Control System (MCS, WCS), enabling bar code technology amongst other technologies to be used with the current WMS, JBA. With LWS Analytex, Logistex’s business intelligence tool, Dr. Martens will be able to create user generated reports and graphs to analyse how their operation is performing. The dashboard functionality will also enable a helicopter view of the operation at a glance.

Logistex’s LWS Reflex WMS, is an innovative warehouse management solution which has been developed to make the latest WMS technology more widely accessible and affordable to both eCommerce and traditional retail businesses, with in-built flexibility to match the client’s needs as they grow and develop in future years. The user simply accesses the built in functionality as and when it is needed, from simple manual operation to a fully-fledged automated warehouse.

There’s no longer any need to replace one WMS for another system as the business grows, with all the attendant cost and upheaval, as LWS Reflex has the capability and flexibility to last a lifetime. Unlike many other systems LWS Reflex is not licensed per user, but licensed by site with unlimited users, so there’s no financial penalty for growth.

After initial discussions with Logistex, the team at Dr. Martens recognised the value that LWS Reflex could offer to their business and a demonstration at Logistex’s Demo Suite at the Logistex offices in Kettering made it clear that LWS Reflex’s ability to provide all the functionality required for stock placement, location, picking, packing and dispatch is ideally suited to the burgeoning eTail sector.

Dan Hardwicke, IT Consultant for Dr Martens has said “We chose LWS Reflex from Logistex to provide a future proof solution for implementation in our new European Distribution Centre. After considering offerings, and technologies, from a number of different suppliers we decided that LWS Reflex from Logistex provided the best solution, not only in the short term but also well into the future.”
