Leading timber supplier Arbor Forest Products Ltd has installed a Mosca RO-M-RI strapping machine as part of a fully automated line for the manufacture of MDF profiles in its new £2.5million factory in New Holland, Lincolnshire.
Arbor Forest Products is an independently owned supplier of more than 225,000m3 of timber each year for use within the building, DIY and construction trades. Timber is imported directly to Arbor Forest’s wholly owned port at New Holland – the largest privately owned dedicated timber terminal in the UK – while the company’s state of the art mill facility within the same locality offers a machining capacity of over 35 million metres per annum.
The RO-M-RI features a unique moving arch design. The arch moves into position around the pack, applies the strap and then moves back into the body of the machine so that the strapped pack can be moved on without obstruction. This provides speed and flexibility and enables the machine to operate in many different environments and factory layouts.
In addition, the RO-M-RI features automatic strap feed, strap-end detection with ejection of remaining strap, quick strap coil change, adjustable strap tension and energy saving drives, which provide increased speed and throughput efficiencies to deliver valuable energy and cost savings.
This latest model joins a range of existing Mosca machines – three KOF-611 and six RO-M-RI machines, some of which have been installed for over 12 years and which are continuing to perform reliably and efficiently.
Production Manager, Simon Dennis, has been very impressed with the new Mosca addition and states: “Over the last few years, Arbor Forest has successfully used Mosca strapping equipment within our timber sawmill. Mosca RO-M-RI strapping machines are part of a vast range of automatic, semi-automatic and fully automated strapping machines.
