CHEP, the global leader in pallet and container pooling services, has recently made two key appointments within its European Pallets operations.
Firstly, Jorge Montano has been appointed Vice President, European Key Accounts for CHEP Pallets in Europe. Jorge moves into this position from his previous role in CHEP based in Latin America where he was Country General Manager of Mexico & Central America, a position he has held since 2009. Mr. Montano replaces Jochen Behr, who has recently been appointedCountry General Manager for CHEP Pallets in Central and Eastern Europe.
Jorge joined CHEP as the LATAM Chief Financial Officer in 2003. His responsibilities during that time included Finance and Accounting operations for Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile. Prior to joining CHEP, Jorge had a ten year career at UPS, ending his time there as the Finance Director at UPS & UPSCO Mexico. In his new role, Jorge will be based in Madrid and will be relocating to Europe with his family.
Secondly, Rob Spencer has been appointed Senior Director of Strategy and Marketing, for CHEP Pallets in Europe. In this role, Rob will be responsible for developing regional and country-level strategies, managing initiatives to further diversify and differentiate CHEP’s service offer and co-ordinating Marketing activities across the region.
Rob first joined CHEP in Australia in 2000. He brings with him a wealth of strategy and marketing experience from his time in the Australian business. In November 2010, Rob moved to the UK to lead Brambles’ global innovation programme. Rob will be based in Weybridge in the UK.
In their new roles both Jorge and Rob will report to James McCarthy, CHEP President for European Pallets operations.
