At the CeMAT trade show in Hanover from 19th to 23rd May 2014, VITRONIC will present itself as a full solution and service provider for automated, camera-based data capture of goods in intralogistics – offering everything from consulting and planning, through hardware and software, to integration and maintenance.

VOLUMEChd – the high-precision 3D volume measuring system
Highlights at the trade show include VOLUMEChd – the 3D volume measuring system developed by VITRONIC. VOLUMEChd measures the volume of rectangular and irregularly shaped objects in motion with maximum measurement accuracy – at conveyor belt speeds of up to 3 m/s. VOLUMEChd captures packages with a measurement accuracy of 5 x 5 x 5 mm up to a maximum package size of 2,500 x 1,000 x 1,000 mm. In addition to volume measurement, it also simultaneously detects defects in boxes, such as bulges and dents. This prevents malfunctions of the automatic warehouse technology and a decline in throughput when boxes are stored in high rack warehouses.
VICAMsnap! – 100% semi-automatic barcode reading with SAP connection
VICAMsnap! for semi-automatic data capture at goods receipt will be another highlight presented at the VITRONIC booth. VICAMsnap! matrix cameras are installed above the workstation. An operator manually moves the package through the reading field. The codes and data are captured automatically and archived as images.
VICAMsnap! is the ideal solution for simple and quick sorting and picking of goods. Thanks to the integrated loudspeaker or light signals, sort-by-voice or sort-to-light applications can be implemented as required.
An optional interface allows you to store the data captured by VICAMsnap! in SAP tables. Companies can then use these tables to start other processes or to develop customer-specific processes.
VICAMssi2 – Automatic capture of barcodes and OCR
The VICAMssi2 autofocus line camera is the ultimate solution for automatic data capture with the highest read rates at conveyor speeds of up to 4.5 m/s. As well as reading linear barcodes and 2D codes, this camera can also reliably read plain text (OCR), such as addresses and text on labels. It is equipped with the latest generation of CMOS sensors, and delivers excellent image quality and thus the best, most reliable read results. Energy consumption is around 50 percent lower than in cameras made by other manufacturers. VICAMssi2 is already in its eighth generation of production, and has been installed more than 6,000 times worldwide.
