“Not only have more members entered than ever – the quality of the entries received is very impressive. The judges’ job will be harder than ever this year,” said Roger Williams, UKWA’s chief executive officer. The winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony at London’s Dorchester Hotel on Wednesday 2nd July.

There are 10 Awards in total – Customer Service; Training; Technical Innovation; Best New Warehouse Member; Warehouse Manager of the Year; Team of the Year; Environment, Young Employee of the Year and the Chairman’s award.

The UKWA Awards for Warehousing ceremony attracts over 450 UKWA members and their guests together with suppliers to the industry and is considered to be one of the most important networking occasions in the logistics industry’s year.

The host of this year’s presentation ceremony is Gyles Brandreth – the writer, broadcaster, former MP and Government Whip.

Gyles is one of Britain’s most sought-after award ceremony hosts and after-dinner speakers and this will be the second time he has hosted UKWA’s awards luncheon.

Roger Williams, UKWA’s chief executive officer, commented: “Gyles was extremely well received the first time – back in 2006 – and we are delighted that he will be joining us again.”

The event commences at 12 noon with a Gala Reception in the Dorchester’s Opal Suite followed by a 3-course luncheon and the awards presentation in the Ballroom at 1.00pm. The day’s events finish between 3.45 & 4.00 pm and the dress code is lounge suits.
