Welcome to the June 1st Warehouse & Logistics News.  As the UK economic recovery continues to take hold, the CBI has upgraded its forecast for GDP growth to rise to 3.0% this year. As the economic news improves, industrial and logistics property is making the headlines, leading the recovery for corporate property. And it’s nationwide – all the available evidence points to regional property drawing more interest than central London and attracting the majority of investment.

chazOn that positive note, we’re pleased to announce that Warehouse & Logistics News are media partners to the forthcoming Completely Trade, Industrial & Logistics Marketplace for the UK property industry, taking place at Old Spitalfields Market, London E1 on Tuesday 17th June.

Coinciding with the ‘Completely Trade, Industrial & Logistics Marketplace’ event, in this issue we present the latest Warehouse & Logistics News Property Focus Supplement, sponsored by LaSalle Investment Management, one of the enablers of ‘Completely.’

Aimed at updating readers on the latest developments in UK warehousing and logistics property, The Warehouse & Logistics News Property Focus includes articles full of facts and figures from leading companies in the industry, alongside the latest property news from the UK warehouse and logistics sector. Within the Property Focus we also have an exclusive interview with Toby Wenham Associate Director at LaSalle Investment Management, who specialises in warehouse and logistic property. LaSalle is one of the UK’s leading industrial property management companies, managing warehouses and logistic facilities and logistic space from Bristol to Scotland.

As Toby Wenham says in our interview, the warehouse and logistic property market is seeing improved sentiment/investment amongst occupiers, more enquiries and more occupiers looking to engage in early conversations on new leases, but everyone involved needs to see it as a partnership, and the relationship between landlord and tenant must be mutually beneficial to work. To be continued!

Also in this issue we have all the latest news from the industry, with all our regular sections, plus scheduled features on The Loading Bay, taking in Industrial doors, dock levelers and dock lifts, and Fork Trucks, looking at all things fork truck. Speaking of which, don’t miss our front page story about Jungheinrich’s rugged new ‘Torque Converter’ hydrodynamic drive diesel and LPG trucks, which have been shock-tested in extreme conditions,

STOP PRESS – congratulations to all the exhibitors at CeMAT on a truly brilliant show, especially the winners of the IFOY Awards, announced in Hannover. See our report in this issue. Warehouse & Logistics News were in attendance and greatly appreciate the time spent with the exhibitors during our visit, both on the stands and socialising afterwards.
