Specialists in the service, repair, maintenance and installation of vehicle traffic barriers, automated swing and sliding gates, turnstiles, bollards and associated access control systems, Perimeter Security Maintenance became part of the BID Group in 2012.

chazTheir latest gate installation took place at MBW (UK) Ltd in Bolton, Lancashire. MBW began operations in 1967 with its introduction of a lower maintenance vibratory plate compactor. Today the Company’s product line encompasses a full line of soil compaction products, equipment for mixing, vibrating, screeding, finishing and slipforming of concrete, as well as a number of specialty products for construction applications. All MBW products have been designed and manufactured with one mission in mind: To advance the state of the art in product design while providing reliable and reasonable relationships with its customers.

Greig Sandiford – Managing Director for European Operations says that the requirement for the gate came on the back of unwanted visitors entering site. “We have needed a more secure facility for a while and I received two quotes. The first was around 30% cheaper than that of PSM, but when I looked into the background of the company and all the extra benefits that came with it my choice was made easy”.

“The biggest plus point for me was the array of safety features that came as standard making the installation fully compliant with all current regulations. Now the installation is complete I have no doubt that I made the right choice in choosing PSM, the level of service offered has surpassed even my expectations and I would now have no problems recommending gates or any other product offered by PSM or BID Group Ltd”.

The gate installed measured 8000mm clear opening width and took one week to install from start to finish. Linked into the gate is an intercom system allowing the reception to know who wishes to enter the site before remotely opening it. A modern GSM intercom system allows visitors and deliveries communication with reception for site entry and staff can dial into the unit for secure access. Vehicles can exit freely by driving over an induction loop fitted underneath the top surface of the yard.
