“The expansion of the Thor VM2 line of vehicle-mount computers is a testament to our continued focus on delivering customer value,” said Peter Fehl, vice president of global marketing for Honeywell Scanning & Mobility. “Support for additional operating systems offers seamless migration for new and existing customers to move to a vehicle-mount computer with industry-leading productivity enhancement features.”

With a 9.7” XGA display, programmable multi-function keys and compatibility for both WLAN and WWAN networks, the Thor VM2 offers a variety of features to improve productivity and streamline operations.

• Smart Dock capability allows for easy separation of the computer from the power supply, empowering users to seamlessly migrate from vehicle to vehicle in 1/6 the standard time.

• A field-replaceable front panel enables single-tool touch screen repairs, significantly minimizing downtime and maintenance costs resulting from wear and tear at the most common abuse point.

• Power management settings eliminates the maintenance expense and lost productivity caused by a dead vehicle battery by allowing customers to configure the device to automatically go into standby or hibernate at a selectable time after the ignition switch is turned off.

The Thor VM2 is expected to ship in April 2014. The Thor VM2 will be on display during LogiMAT, Feb. 25-27, 2014 in hall 5 / booth 146 at New Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre.
