A leading forklift attachment firm has helped one of its customers solve the problematic task of disposing contents from industrial steel drums.
Contact Attachments, based in Newtown, Mid Wales, has provided Hertfordshire-based Vetspeed Ltd with a forklift attachable drum grab to help the firm safely transport and empty industrial drums used onsite.
Vetspeed Ltd, a waste management company for the veterinary sector and commercial waste, enlisted the support of Contact Attachments to provide a safe and efficient solution for the process of emptying the firm’s 205 litre drums using a forklift. There are many common challenges associated with handling drums, and the issue of lifting, moving, and manipulating the drum can often be problematic. The fully automatic drum grab is designed for handling steel drums with rolling hoops, and is ideal for low to medium volume movement.
Nick Arnold, Chief Engineer at Vetspeed Ltd, said: “We called upon the services of Contact Attachments as we required a solution for the handling of our heavy 205 litre drums, which was not only safe but ensured minimal fuss. We are delighted with the quality of the product, not only was it exactly as described, but the service provided by the firm was absolutely first class.”
Jason Cadman, Technical Sales Consultant at Contact Attachments, said: “We are pleased we were able to support Vetspeed Ltd with their waste handling issue, and provide a convenient and safe solution. Our drum grabs have been designed and manufactured in-house, have been fully tested and adhere to the strictest health and safety guidelines.”
