IMC has announced the sale of its ShockLog product range to its US distributor ShockWatch, a division of Media Recovery Inc., itself part of the Nasdaq-listed Capital Southwest Corporation. Terms of the transaction, which was completed on December 31, 2013, were not disclosed.

normalThe IMC Group provides the heritage, healthcare, industrial and food sectors with tailored monitoring technology delivering vital data from environmental parameters such as temperature and humidity through to the condition of goods and infrastructure during operation, storage and transportation.

IMC Group MD Ian Robinson said: “IMC has doubled in size due to our focus as proactive designers and creators of innovative instrumentation products, and this sale enables us to focus on new technology within our other core brands such as Hanwell and IceSpy. In addition, IMC will continue to be Master Distributor UK and Ireland for the entire ShockWatch product range and we will also continue to manufacture the ShockLog range of products on behalf of ShockWatch here in the UK.”

“The IMC Group was formed and subsequently grown from a series of mergers and acquisitions and we shall be continuing that growth both organically and by further acquisitions,” added Ian Robinson.

ShockWatch Vice President of Product Management and Marketing Angela Kerr said: “This acquisition makes perfect strategic sense for ShockWatch. We know the products, the markets and many ShockLog customers. We are proud to take ownership of the ShockLog brand and excited about its growth potential.”
