The family-run company benefits from nearly 40 years of experience in the forklift truck sector and will be responsible for providing sales and aftersales support across the full range of Cat® lift trucks offered by sole UK importer Impact Handling. Glosrose will cover an area of responsibility for Impact Handling that spans the south east corner of the UK.

Speaking about the new partnership, Russ Butcher, Service Director at Glosrose, explains: “Both Glosrose and Impact Handling are well established names within the materials handling sector and we see great opportunities for the Cat lift trucks range in the south east. By working closely with Impact Handling we can offer our customers access to one of the most extensive product line-ups available, backed up by an unrivalled support network.

“It’s still early days, but we’re already seeing a real appetite for the brand, with the 1.5 tonne to 8 tonne counterbalance range proving most relevant in this part of the country. We have a number of loyal customers who rely on us to fulfil their materials handling requirements quickly and effectively – working in partnership with Impact Handling more than allows us to do this.”

The Kent-based business has a team of 25 mobile service engineers and can provide assistance to customers 24 hours a day. Glosrose also has access to Impact Handling’s extensive parts service with Cat® Lift Trucks, meaning genuine spares can be delivered on a next-day basis if not available within Glosrose’s own extensive parts store.

With a short term hire fleet of 300-plus machines and a contract rental fleet in excess of 500 units, Glosrose is confident it will continue to grow its business on the back of this new deal.

Impact Handling’s Managing Director, Terry Kendrew, says: “We’re very excited to welcome Glosrose Mechanical Handling to our dealer network and we look forward to working closely with them over the coming months.
