Adam Goddard, Project Engineer at SSI Schaefer based in Andover, gave up his valuable time over last weekend to install racking and shelving donated by SSI Schaefer to the Andover Trees United community group.

Andover Trees United is a thriving community partnership made up of 25 local schools, youth groups, volunteers and businesses all working in partnership with specialist environmental organisations. Its aim is to design and create a new woodland for everyone in Andover as a recreational and educational green space and it hopes to involve every young person in the community in planting 10,000 trees in and around Andover over the next decade.

Adam Goddard has been a member of the group for a year and in that time he has helped to plant trees, sow seeds and plant wildflower meadows at the 10 acre site at Harmony Woods, Enham, north Andover. A large shipping container has been installed on this site for the storage of gardening forks, spades, wheelbarrows, gazebos etc. and to provide some form of shelter for those working on the site during the winter months. Adam spent his weekend fitting out this container with fully galvanised steel racking donated by SSI Schaefer from its Regal 3000 range of racking.

As Adam explains: “This R3000 range is very high quality racking with tremendous strength and durability and is ideal for the purposes of the container. SSI Schaefer has also donated plastic containers to Andover Trees United for storing items such as gardening gloves and the smaller tools and equipment used on the site.”

Adam is a firm believer in taking action now to build a better environment for future generations, adding: “We should all take responsibility for what happens to the countryside around us both now and in the future and Andover Trees United provides an opportunity to give something back and make a real difference to the Andover community”.
