“Superior safety is critical where the explosion risks are high for industries such as chemical, coatings, food, drink, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, bottled gas and logistics, many of which are located in Antwerp,” says Matthew Shirkie, Head of Industrial Division, Pyroban.

Pyroban converts forklift trucks and mobile equipment so that they can be used safely and legally within hazardous areas found throughout the supply chain. The company exhibited a range of explosion proof solutions for materials handling operations suitable for customers in the port of Antwerp area.

“Leading forklift truck manufacturers authorise Pyroban to convert their latest models for use in manufacturing and storage areas where an explosive atmosphere could occur,” says Matthew, explaining that Pyroban remains independent of forklift truck brand, providing end users with the opportunity to choose their preferred supplier to help reduce lifetime cost, improve efficiency and above all operate safely.

Exhibits on the Pyroban stand included a model of an explosion proof forklift truck featuring Pyroban’s system6000 which provides “Active” Zone 2 protection. system6000 continues to be most popular explosion prevention system in the warehouse and logistics sector and was displayed alongside the “Gascheka duo” system for enhanced safety areas.

“We showed ignition sources and causes of explosion, case study application examples and videos to demonstrate what we do, how and why we do it, and for whom,” says Matthew.

Pyroban is an international group of companies trusted to provide a range of safety critical solutions to some of the most well known global consumer and industrial brands. Pyroban provides a complete service support structure across Europe and offers an annual safety audit Ex-ASA to help companies achieve continued compliance with the European ATEX Directives.

The Expo in Antwerp also enabled visitors to discuss Pyroban’s area classification and risk assessment services in addition to hazardous area training services.
