Combilift marked its fifteenth year in business with the introduction of a number of new products which were premiered at various major industry events at home and abroad.

WR-long-load-1[4]

IMHX saw the launch of major developments including the first pedestrian truck from Combilift – the Combi-WR Walkie reach, which was followed by premiere of a 4-way version, the Combi-WR4 at the specialist timber show, Ligna, in Hanover a couple of months later. The level of interest in Combilift’s latest and smallest models to date shows that once again the company’s R & D department has tapped into even more market potential. The Combi-WR and the Combi-WR4 have been shortlisted in the ergonomics and safety categories of the 2014 FLTA Awards for excellence.

“We developed our first pedestrian trucks in response to feedback from customers for a cost effective and smaller unit for handling lighter loads,” says Combilift MD Martin McVicar. ”In areas where the general public or employees may be present these models offer a very safe way of handling pallets as well as longer loads in confined areas.”

Incorporating the benefits of AC technology in its traction, pump and steering motors, the WR models have a lift height of 4.2m and a load capacity of 1,450kg. With electronic power steering, pantograph and side shift functions it is the only pedestrian reach stacker range which can work in an aisle-width of 2m pallet to pallet.

The multi-position tiller incorporates push button rotation of the rear wheel parallel to the chassis for placing and picking in the aisle. This enables the operator to remain at the side of the truck rather than between the rear and the racking, improving visibility and greatly reducing crush risk. In order to rotate the rear wheel parallel to the tiller the operator merely needs to push the button again. 2-speed operation is controlled by a rabbit/turtle switch, and speeds can also be adjusted or customised to suit the level of the operator’s experience.

Antalis-2[7]The new C4000E, part of the new electric range, is packed with features to ensure efficient, smooth and quiet operation and improved driver comfort. This multidirectional model features full AC electric drive on the front right and rear wheel for increased traction and very exact directional travel even with extremely heavy loads. With solid rubber tyres on the two front wheels and a rear rubber super elastic tyre, the C4000E is equally at home in the warehouse as well as on challenging surfaces in and around the yard. Another new electric model is the Combi-STE stand-on truck.

For operations that need sideloaders for long run applications such as in port environments for example, Combilift’s new 4-wheeled two directional sideloader, fitted with pneumatic tyres offers considerable benefits over other machines on the market. Optimum performance is guaranteed by a single hydrostatic drive motor coupled with a JCB differential axle used on the rear of its 3CX backhoe model. This proven axle ensures reliable long distance travel at top speeds, eliminating any concern of overheating. As always, driver comfort and safety was a priority in the design stages and the new ergonomic cab features easy entry and exit and enhanced visibility.
