Mitrex, founded in 1996, is the market leader in The Netherlands and Belgium for explosion protection according the ATEX regulations. In their Dutch facilities they do all modifications on forklift trucks, scrubbers and other mobile equipment for ATEX zones. Over the past years they have grown their business to other European countries.

Looking back on the past year it has become clear that the diversity concerning explosion-proof casings has risen vastly. An increasing number of cleaning machines call in at the Mitrex casing location in The Netherlands next to the regular internal transport appliances.

The petrochemical industry is not the only industry that has to do with explosion-proof applications. Mitrex has produced various explosion-proof units for a variety of army groups in Europe over the past years, like Yale stackers that has been adapted for service in Scandinavia in accordance with IP54.

In order to keep up with this growth of the business and to even further expand their export business Mitrex hired a new commercial manager. Patrick van Rooij (41) started this summer in this new role and will spend much of his time on the UK continent. One of his goals will be to convince the UK suppliers that there is a better alternative. This is already proven in the Benelux and in other countries on the mainland. Now it’s time to bring that message across in the UK.

The experienced staff is able to do the conversions for ATEX Zone 1 and 2 and also for Zone 20 and 21. In house production of gas detection system and explosion proof electrical cabinets is contributing to the success of the business. Besides that all production is done under ISO 9001 certification.
