READ THE December 15th ISSUE

FrontIn our regular features in the main issue we cover Fork Trucks, Storage Solutions and Pallets, three essential components in any warehouse. ‘Fork Trucks’ takes a look at all things fork truck. ‘Storage Solutions’ is about maximising efficient use of warehouse space with the latest storage solutions. And in the ‘Pallet Focus’ we explore the world of pallets, including wood and plastic pallets, pallet suppliers, pallet pools, pallet management, pallet inverters and other associated products.

Brought to you in glossy A4 the W&LN Review of The Year looks back at the big stories from 2013 and presents overviews from expert commentators. Our Review also shines a light on innovation and excellence, showcasing the leading manufacturers and service providers in the different industry sectors.

As The Review underlines, 2013 was a brilliant year for UK warehousing and logistics, showing major progress all round. This sense of renewed confidence was borne out in March at IMHX, the industry’s flagship UK show. Afterwards James Clark, Secretary General of BITA, the co-organisers, described visitors as upbeat about business prospects and ready to re-invest. Further heightening the mood, in November the OECD confirmed UK economic activity had picked up and broadened, and predicted stronger investment and consumer spending in 2014.

And the good news continues. On our front cover premium safety system specialists A-Safe have had a ‘magnificent’ 2013, launching new products, developing existing ones, and revealing plans for an even bigger and better range of products exclusively in Warehouse and Logistics News. A-Safe pride themselves as being global but local, and the family-owned company, still based in Halifax, has spread further throughout the world again this year, opening local offices in Australia, Italy, Scandinavia, Thailand and America as their flexible barrier system’s popularity grows, and still finding time to design and manufacture new and innovative products. Behind the scenes their steadily growing R&D team have been working round the clock on the entire product suite, and early in 2014 A-Safe will be launching the new iFlex product range, the first such products on the market.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and see you in January.
