VICAMsnap! is a camera-based data capture solution that combines a robust design, simple integration and operation as well as excellent performance. The large reading area measuring 310mm x 260mm x 300mm makes it easy to capture all 1-D and 2-D codes e.g. on parcels, large letters and boxes. The white LED illumination also enables the reading and processing of colored codes – even in the case of damaged and poorly printed codes on a colored background. Thanks to the reading area being projected onto the package, the operator can quickly ascertain its position and process the item to be captured.
The five-minute video demonstrates how the VICAMsnap! can be used for tasks such as quickly and easily sorting and picking goods. Thanks to the integrated speaker, employees can be given acoustic instructions for recording shipments or voice instructions (audio feedback) for sorting each individual item. This minimizes the risk of errors and increases employee productivity. A red or green status LED is projected directly onto the item to ensure smooth processing even in loud industrial environments. The camera system can also be used for put-to-light and pick-to-light processes. Here, voice instructions for sorting are replaced by light signals.
VICAMsnap!’s high-performance processor not only makes it possible to read barcodes but also to archive the images. Images can be compressed, binarized, prepared for OCR and transferred to a server via Gigabit Ethernet for further processing or offline archiving. The camera system can be used immediately after installation and does not require complicated calibration or programming. This makes the VICAMsnap! the ideal solution for quickly upgrading existing data capturing workstations.
