The company joined Jaguar Land Rover, JCB, McLaren Automotive and a host of other blue chip firms to take part in a prestigious one-day conference organised by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the UK Warehouse Association.

The Clustering in Logistics Conference, held at St George’s Hall, Liverpool also provided the opportunity to recognise the importance of the Liverpool 2 container port development, which will provide an important gateway for many UK exporters.

Drew Farrell, National Business Development Manager at Briggs, attended the event and said he was delighted that Briggs was able to contribute to the conference.

“Our manufacturing partner NACCO Materials Handling is the only mainstream manufacturer of forklift trucks left in the UK and so it was important for us to be involved in an event such as this,” he explained.

“In sponsoring the conference, Briggs was also able to make a valuable contribution to the debate on the importance of manufacturing to the nation’s economy and the way the logistics industry is evolving to make supply chains more efficient and kinder to the environment.

Keynote speaker at the event was Lord Digby Jones and other topics during the day included delivering world-class performance in warehouse operations and the need for up-skilling within the logistics sector.
