Technical Manager Ian Langan, Works Manager Roger Smith and Quality, Health and Safety Manager Mark James will join Managing Director John Meale and Financial Director Geraldine Meale in an expanded arrangement that strengthens Thorworld’s strategic vision.

Ian, Roger and Mark have over 30 years’ experience at Thorworld between them, helping the company’s extensive range of Loading Dock Equipment, Container ramps, platforms, safety aids and other loading accessories, along with its RentARamp® operation, to become a ‘one stop’ shop for businesses across the UK.

Their investment in the business highlights the bond that has developed between the managers and the Thorworld brand. “We are proud of what Thorworld offers, and it’s an honour to be invited to take a greater stake in the company,” explains Mark James.

John Meale confirms the value of sharing ownership with his colleagues. “Thorworld’s senior management team are experts in the field who know the loading and unloading industry inside out. They have been at the heart of Thorworld’s growth and innovation for many years.

“Having them as shareholders will be a huge benefit for our business and for our customers alike. By involving the senior management team more directly in the company’s long-term business strategy, I believe that Thorworld will benefit from enhanced effectiveness moving forwards,” Meale adds.

The new shareholders have been appointed to complement Thorworld’s drive to get Britain’s Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) “Loading and Unloading with Confidence” despite the economic downturn. As Meale points out, “Thorworld manufactures affordable systems which are designed to improve the loading and unloading processes of SMEs who have been hit hardest by the economic climate.

”With Thorworld bolstered by Ian, Roger and Mark’s greater involvement, we can continue to support smaller companies who cannot afford extensive investment in loading docks but still require an effective means of loading and unloading,” Meale concludes.
