Warehouse & Logistics News – What brought you to this industry?

My wish to help pass on the skills and knowledge built up over the years to help people learn new skills.

WLN – What’s the most exciting thing about your job?

Seeing people succeed and achieve their goals.

WLN – Who inspired you most in your career?

My first manager, Mr Wheeler, he had first class people skills, and got the best out of his employees and was a great role model.

WLN – If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?

I would probably choose a fork lift truck, as they are always useful and busy.

WLN – If you had to do it all over again, what would you do different?

I would have to say, I would pay more attention at School.

WLN – What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you at work?

Not being ready for an inspection.

WLN – Who or what makes you laugh?

My children they are the best.

WLN – Do you have any hidden talents?

Passion for Photography.

WLN – Who would be your favourite party guest?

My parents.

WLN – What is the greatest luxury in your life?

My Children, just love them to bits what more could I want.

WLN – What is your favourite guilty pleasure?

Christmas pudding, Port and stilton cheese.

WLN – Do you have any secret ambitions?

My secret ambition would be to purchase an old Route master bus (London bus) AND CONVERT IT and travel from Nottingham to Australia, landing in Perth and touring the country.

In my younger days I toured Europe in a 1961 Bristol double Decker bus converted into a motor home and that was a great experience and I have never forgotten it.

WLN – What’s your dream holiday destination?

New Zealand.

WLN – What are your three favourite movies of all time?

Jaws, Titanic and The Ten Commandments.

WLN – What is your favourite book of all time?

The Canterbury Tales.

WLN – What’s your favourite pastime?

Time with the family and the dog.

WLN – If you won the Lottery, what would you do?

Retire and look after all my family.

WLN – What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into the industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?

Go for it! Keep an open mind. You can do it!
