When Midac UK was formed a little over a year ago it benefitted from the backing, Technical and Manufacturing Technology of Midac SpA of Italy, one of Europe’s most dynamic battery companies. Midac was only formed in 1989 and so benefits from the latest Technology to ensure quality and efficient manufacturing, incorporating the Toyota TPS manufacturing principles.
On entering the UK market, though, the company benefitted from recruiting a number of long serving industry professionals to bring a blend of experience of the UK market to the new name on the block. TBM Directors had 50+ years experience of the battery industry and 25+ year’s battery room design experience. Since formation Midac UK has added to that with recruitment of Sales and Service Professionals with similar experienced backgrounds.
Not only does Midac now have coverage in the UK but an operation has also been set up in Ireland. With a base in N Ireland to supply and service both Northern and Southern Ireland customers. This operation is run locally with its own stock and warehouse facility, making Midac the only battery manufacturer with a direct presence and stock holding in Ireland.
Midac UK was formed as a joint venture between Midac SpA of Italy and Total Battery Management Ltd (TBM) of the UK. In 2007 TBM was set up as a provider of battery room design, equipment supply and installation primarily for the Materials Handling Industry. Within this portfolio is not only battery change equipment of varying degrees of sophistication, to suit all applications, but also mechanical installation of the equipment, ventilation system design and installation and full electrical installation to latest electrical regulations. Since its birth TBM had become a major supplier of these services to customers including both end users and major Materials Handling suppliers. In addition to UK applications TBM has also supplied into other countries including Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, China and Poland. With this experience of the industry TBM was seen as a perfect partner for Midac to form the UK operation.
This experience of battery handing is seen as a major advantage to Midac, not only allowing it to hit the UK market running in this sector of the market place but also to use the experience across the Midac Network in other countries allowing it to become a more complete supplier of batteries and battery handling packages Internationally.
Thus, from this partnership the resulting formation of Midac UK creates a complete battery company with experience of all aspects of the business not just another battery company!!
