Yale Europe Materials Handling was awarded  a Fork Lift Truck Association  (FLTA) “Archie” in the safety category for its LED mast lights at the organisation’s 19th annual Awards for Excellence this weekend.

Co-presented by Channel Five news presenter, Emma Crosby, the award ceremony saw key industry figures attend the Hilton Birmingham Metropole to discover the companies and individuals that had been awarded the materials handling industry’s top honours.

The LED mast lights nominated by Yale were singled out in the Safety category for increasing visibility in the warehouse and confined spaces such as shipping containers and  block stacking applications.

The FLTA nominations committee said : “Overhead guard-mounted working lights are frequently obscured by the mast, reducing visibility. By introducing slim-line, mast-mounted LEDs, available on all of their ICE and electric counterbalance trucks, Yale has significantly improved forward illumination, while eliminating the majority of mast shadow.”

Steve Ridgway, Yale brand manager, added: “We are delighted to have received this prestigious award Yale takes safety extremely seriously; the mast mounted LED lights introduced in 2012 have not only contributed to increasing safer operation but also reducing product damage.”
